I create unique works that are records of light. Playing with notions of minimalism and perception, I aim to evoke in the viewer a slow, meditative way of watching.
I’m a photographer with a background in astrophysics. My work relies on the study of traditional photographic techniques informed by contemporary and minimalist notions. After starting out with classic analogue photography, the main focus of my practice has shifted to cameraless techniques and to exploring the essence of the photographic process.
I’m obsessed with light or its absence, with the idea of making visible to the eye what was previously imperceptible.
I aim to create poetic works that testify to the limitation of our senses, to capture something beyond what is conventionally recorded by photography. By studying the transformation of light particles in various ways, a sense of curiosity and wonder at the mysteries of the universe is at the core of my artistic practice.
In the alchemical process in the darkroom, an ephemeral and fragile appearance manifests as an archaic record on the photosensitive material.
